AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Palestinian leaders and activists called on the Palestinian masses to intensify their presence at the Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan to protect it against Jewish settlers’ raids and plots.
In press remarks on Saturday, Hamas confirmed its continuous efforts to put an end to the Israeli attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque, warning that the Palestinian people are ready to repel the Israeli attacks if they continue to raid the holy site.
Meanwhile, activists called for performing “I’tikaf” (religious retreat) at the Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan to protect it against extremist temple groups who are determined to practice the Passover animal sacrifice rituals at the Aqsa Mosque at any cost in the coming days.
Massive demonstrations were held in Al-Quds and Birzeit Universities in protest at the Israeli raids on the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the planned Passover animal sacrifice rituals.
The protestors called on the Palestinian Authority to end security coordination with Israel terming it as a treachery to the Palestinian martyrs.
More than 160 Palestinians were injured after Israeli soldiers fired bullets and teargas bombs during the raid on the Al-Aqsa Mosque following the Friday dawn prayer while at least 450 worshippers were arrested.
